Meet AHS Teacher: Michael Womack

Womack grew up in Nevada, Missouri and went to college at the University of Missouri. He later transferred to Metropolitan State in Minnesota and later got his Masters degree from Holy Family University. This is his 11th year as a Language Arts teacher. He moved from New Jersey to Georgia to continue his teaching career at Alpharetta.
Womack believes he is adjusting to Alpharetta high school well.
“So far so good. The class sizes are pretty big and there's a lot of students in a class and that's been kind of a challenge, but the students here are incredibly polite and have been very engaged. The english department has been kind and helpful,” Womack the 10th grade ELA teacher, said.
Womack got his inspiration to be a teacher from his high school debate class.
“I was originally a communications major and after my second year of college I was at lunch break outside of taco bell having having a mini midlife crisis and I said ‘I don't want to be a communications major what do I want to do’ and I thought about what would of made me the happiest and I was in high school and I remembered my speech and debate teacher and wanted to be just like him.” Womack said.
