AHS Goes in a New Direction for Homecoming

AHS annual homecoming on Saturday Oct. 17th will be held in the Aux Gym. It is expected to be very different from previous years, by the amount of time student council has put into it and making it a more casual event.
Homecoming this year wants to focus on making this a more relaxed and enjoyable event..The homecoming committees have indicated that this years event will have unexpected differences in which the student body will be stunned.
“Goals that I would like this year for homecoming is a higher attendance, make it a more casual event, and more affordable for students with other changes we have made for homecoming is having a lot more students in student council that help plan homecoming,” Whitney Decaminada, Student Council Advisor,said.
The homecoming committees have spent many weeks devoting their time to make homecoming a memorable school dance.The homecoming committees have said that this year will be more improved changes.
“I do a lot of different tasks for homecoming planning, and make sure that all members are on task and have completed their assigned goals. I oversee all committees and offer guidance based on my experiences and that’s how I know how we can make homecoming better this year”, Pooja Juvekar, Student Council President, said.
Their goals are to have more people attend their event and get positive feedback from the student body. They have a strong mindset that this year will have changes such as a more casual theme where you can dress more comfortable, and overall making it more affordable so more students can attend. Student council wants to make it clear how much work they have put into it and make it a success.
“Homecoming will bring more of great memories and it’s an experience you don’t want to miss”, Mark Feehan, Student Council Vice President , said.
